I am thrilled that everyone who uses my bags, knows they are getting a top quality product, with a unique expressive style they’re unlikely to find anywhere else.

Before I created Designs by Joanna Stanek, I was actually a Physics major in college.  I eventually changed my major to Meteorology, then ended up as a Photography major after two extremely challenging years.

I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do with my life, just that the arts, especially photography, made me happy.  After graduating though, my passion for sewing grew until it was all I wanted to do.

I’ve never had any formal sewing training; my mom taught me the basics of hand and machine sewing when I was little, and I have since taught myself everything else I know (with some helpful tips and pointers along the way).  Making bags just makes sense!

All Joanna Stanek bags are individually and carefully hand crafted, using our own patterns, at our headquarters in Patton, Pennsylvania.  We specialize in small batch and one-of-a-kind items for unique and effortless self-expression, while always focusing on the highest possible quality.

I live my life and run my business based on the qualities of faith, perseverance, integrity, self-discipline, self-control, and the goodness of God.

My goal is to spread joy and positivity, while encouraging others to be their best every day.
